Ah Giphy. Home of a million gifs. An API to use and peruse. I chose a few things I enjoy (including the northern lights which I hope to see in person some time) to allow folks to display. You can add as many as your own as you like.
Javascript generates the random answer and validates that a question was entered. CSS creates the circles, triangle and text area. Pretty much just like the 8-ball you used to have!
This app uses APIs for Yelp, Mapquest and Firebase. It was a group project. The app's primary purpose is to show samples of tattoos and ratings of tattoo shops, to help you choose.
Javascript does some work here. Mostly it calculates for you. Enter an amount, add a tip percentage, enter how many people are splitting the bill (can be 1 or more). The handy app will tell you how much each person should pay. Mobile responsive.

There is no practical application for this code. I was learning about MySQL and using Sequelize to interact with it. I got an A on the assignment because it does what was assigned, but when you look at it, it doesn't make a lot of sense.
Shark attacks seem to be on the increase, at least on the east coast. With this app you can report shark sightins and look to see if there have been any on the beach where you're going. We used quite a few technologies in this group project.
Node applications are driven from the command line. To play with them, you need to install and run them. You can read about it and see screen shots on github.
